Events provide a fantastic opportunity for you to grow your sales, and with the summer event season right around the corner, now is the time to start planning and preparing events you can capitalize on. There are countless different types of events that can help boost your sales, here are just a few ideas.
Existing Established Events
The first and most obvious target you should begin considering are events that are already established such as:
- Fairs
- Outdoor expos
- Community gatherings
- Holiday events and parades
- Sporting events
- Home and garden shows
These types of events are already set up to attract large audiences and can help you generate a large amount of brand awareness, community involvement, and ultimately sales. You should be actively researching events in your local markets right now, and contacting them to get your space reserved. Many of these types of events fill up very fast with vendors, and if you’re waiting around then you are likely to miss out on opportunities.
Parking Lot Pop-ups
Hosting pop-up events in your parking lot is another great way to attract people to your business who may not otherwise notice or be aware of you. Setting up a tent out front on a Saturday afternoon, and advertising special prizes/giveaways are great ways to entice customers to come and check out what you have to offer.
Partnering with food vendors or other businesses in your immediate vicinity or around the community is a good way to garner bigger turnouts of potential customers stopping by. Anything you can do to offer them an incentive to be there is going to help you.
Door-to-Door
Summertime is also an obviously great opportunity for bolstering your door-to-door selling efforts. While some people may have a negative view of door-to-door, it’s still a hugely effective way to sell, and it doesn’t have to be attached to all the preconceived negative things people may attach to it. Summer offers so many more opportunities to speak with people as they are out doing yard maintenance or recreation activities. Start hiring and training your sales teams now with the best tactics and strategies to succeed in this realm. Not every door-to-door salesperson has to be pushy and off-putting.
You Know Your Area Better Than Anyone
Keep in mind that the suggestions above are broad – perhaps not every single one will be as high value in your area as it is in another market. And there are likely other types of events not covered here that may be worthwhile for you such as community outreach activities, college/university events, and more. There are so many different ways to get yourself in front of customers. Make your plans NOW to have an incredible selling summer!
